There was an 1100cc big bore kit installed by the dealer when the bike was purchased by the original owner (or so he says). It is very likely the receiver in the hub thats bent from misalignment, this will have to be fixed to make the speedo cable spin. A quick check is to remove the cable from the hub and spin with your fingers while looking for movement on the speedo needle. If it moves, your problem is in the hub.
