The 1301 comp pro can do everything, sporting clays, general range fun and is light and nimble enough to play a self defense role if need be. Both will serve you well but the 1301 comp pro is the best do it all shotgun from my experience.

At least with my 2 shotguns, both 21" guns set up the same, Benelli showed heavier than the 1301 by about a 1/2 pound. Actual weight not manufacturers claim.
